Tap any tile to hear the compound letter.
The ஓ-row compound letters — uyirmey (உயிர்மெய்) — are formed by joining each of the 18 pure consonants with the vowel ஓ. The result: 18 single glyphs that each carry one consonant and one vowel sound.
How they’re formed
… and so on for all 18 consonants. The vowel sign ோ attaches to every consonant in the same way.
