Tamil has its own numeral characters (௦ ௧ ௨ …) and three special multiplier characters (௰, ௱, ௲) for ten, hundred and thousand. In modern usage, Arabic numerals (0–9) are far more common, but the Tamil forms still appear in classical literature, religious texts and decorative writing.

Multiplier characters
Classical Tamil uses single characters for ten, hundred and thousand. They’re built into the same number system — e.g. ௱௫௰ would read nūṟu aindu + multiplier patterns — though everyday writing now uses ௧௦, ௧௦௦, ௧௦௦௦ or plain 10, 100, 1000.
